Arte alle donne! The new online course on women and art from the 16th century to today

October and November with “Arte alle Donne!” to follow paths traced by artists, gallerists and art historians, thanks to six lessons on Zoom held by Alessandra Montalbetti of the Brera Art Gallery. It was Professor Montalbetti who conceived and held the face-to-face Guggenheim Art Classes and other interesting online courses. Now, with “Arte alle Donne!”, she introduces us to female figures who have written the history of art from the 16th century to the present day, with an overview ranging from names known to the general public to unknown protagonists of famous works. The path aims to describe the role of women in art, their fight against social conventions and the hard journey to see recognized their value.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection promotes this initiative for its members and offers the possibility to non-members to enrol until the 17th of October with a reduced fee.
