Exhibition: Feminine figures in the collections of Tournais Museum of Fine arts (Belgium)

To celebrate the loan of two sculptures by Belgian artists Rik Wouters, the Museum of Fine Arts of Tournais (Belgium) organises an exhibition that interrogates representations of the feminine figures in their own collection.

“Odes to the body’s sensuality and plasticity or still reductive and stereotyped images of an “eternal feminine”? Nel, Marthe, Carmen, Suzanne, Marie-Madeleine, Venus, Penelope; anonymous models instituted as muses, maids, wives, workers, goddesses or saints, so many, real or allegorical, feminine figures who punctuate this itinerary ...”

The exhibition also includes works from two contemporary guest artists, Hélène Amazou (Togo, 1969) and Kubra Khademi (Afghanistan, 1989).

The exhibition is visible from 03-04-2021 to 12-09-2021
