Exhibition: Lena Cuore di Caravaggio (Italy)
Overcoming gender stereotypes through the art works by GAS Collettivo d’Arte Indipendente, shining the spotlight on how stereotypes contribute to influence the society we live in, this is the objective of the exhibition “Lena Cuore di Caravaggio”, which will be presented in Messina until September 2021.
The exhibition aims at making people reflect on how the construction of male and female roles that is imposed since childhood often determines a distorted vision of reality. The objective of the project is overcoming stereotypes and prejudices through artistic language. This is the same goal that we set with REGENERART, the project co-funded by the Program Erasmus+ of the European Union that Pangea Onlus is leading, aims at deconstructing stereotypes that have been transmitted through art, by revisiting in creative and innovative ways some works and developing new ones to promote gender equality and prevent violence against women.
